The trip

To many, hunting the Scottish highland deer in rut is the ultimate hunt. It is a laborious task surrounded by epic nature with splendid views and a play of colours the likes of which has never been seen. A hunt that pushes you to the limit of what your physique can endure. We are honest with our customers and therefore, we recommend that you are in good physical shape. You have to be willing to perform, otherwise the experience will be disappointing to both hunter and stalker. You have to want it and do it! The hunt goes on from late/or about the third week of September (week 39) until the third week of October (week 42, 20 October). We include 2 deer per hunter in a package consisting of 4 days hunting from Monday to Thursday, arriving Sunday night and departing early Friday morning.

You will hunt in three different hunting preserves, located on each side of a gorge and a road, which cuts through the area. It is an absolutely excellent hunt. Since 1988, we have had the hunt, and we have yet to experience a disappointed guest – we have even had hunters, who have come back two or three times, a true testament to the quality.

The description above proves correct. It is everything that a highland hunt should be – you have to work for it, but the experience of a lifetime awaits, if you do! Usually, we take back 20 trophies from the hunting preserves every year.

Primarily, you fly from Esbjerg Airport Sunday evening to Aberdeen, and return the following Friday morning.

In Aberdeen, you rent a car and drive to the hunting preserves, unless anything else is agreed upon. Jelling Hunting Tours takes care of booking plane tickets and renting a car.
